Last updated: February 12, 2026

Blue Valley Steel is committed to providing durable, dependable structures and standing behind the products we sell. This Warranty Information explains what is covered, what is not covered, and how warranty claims are handled. By purchasing a structure through Blue Valley Steel, you acknowledge and agree to the warranty terms and limitations listed in this document.

1. Definitions

For purposes of this warranty, the following definitions apply:

  • Structure: The building, carport, cover, or metal structure purchased.
  • Installation Date: The date the structure is installed/assembled at the customer’s site.
  • Workmanship: The quality of labor involved in installing and assembling the structure.
  • Painted Sheet Metal: Painted metal panels included with the unit, when applicable.
  • Proper Maintenance: Reasonable care of the structure, including keeping the unit clean, preventing standing water and debris buildup, and avoiding exposure to corrosive chemicals or environments without appropriate care.
  • We / Us / Our: Blue Valley Steel and/or the manufacturer/installer where applicable.

2. 90-Day Workmanship Warranty

2.1 Coverage

Blue Valley Steel provides a workmanship warranty for ninety (90) days beginning on the Installation Date. This warranty covers workmanship-related defects in the installation and assembly of the Structure, meaning issues caused by improper installation practices.

2.2 Examples of Workmanship-Related Issues (When Verified)

Examples may include, as determined by us after review:

  • Improper fastening attributable to installation.
  • Misaligned components caused by installation error.
  • Labor-related issues that materially prevent normal use of the Structure.

2.3 Remedy

If a valid workmanship issue is confirmed during the 90-day coverage period, we may, at our option:

  • Repair the workmanship defect.
  • Replace the affected installation components.
  • Provide another reasonable remedy we determine appropriate.

2.4 Limitations

This workmanship warranty is limited strictly to workmanship defects. It does not guarantee that the Structure is immune to damage from weather, ground conditions, misuse, improper anchoring, or customer-made modifications.

3. 20-Year Painted Sheet Metal Warranty (Painted Panels Only)

3.1 Coverage

For Structures that include painted sheet metal panels, the Painted Sheet Metal is warranted for twenty (20) years from the Installation Date against the following manufacturing-related failures, provided Proper Maintenance is upheld:

  • Peeling
  • Cracking
  • Blistering
  • Flaking
  • Splitting
  • Panel delamination

3.2 Remedy

If a covered issue occurs within the 20-year period, we may choose, in our sole discretion, to:

  • Repair the affected Painted Sheet Metal.
  • Replace the affected Painted Sheet Metal (materials only).
  • Provide an equivalent remedy we determine appropriate.

3.3 Important Notes About This Coverage

This warranty applies only to the Painted Sheet Metal itself. Unless we specifically agree in writing, this warranty does not include labor, travel, removal, disposal, reinstallation, or incidental expenses.

Color variation, fading, chalking, and normal weathering may occur over time and are generally considered normal wear unless they fall under the covered failures listed above and are verified as warrantable.

4. Warranty Voiding Conditions (Modifications / Alterations)

Any modifications, alterations, additions, or repairs performed by anyone not approved by us will void all warranties immediately. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Cutting, drilling, welding, or torching on structural members.
  • Adding loads, hanging equipment, or mounting systems not approved by us.
  • Removing or replacing manufacturer components with non-approved components.
  • Any structural change that affects integrity, wind resistance, or weight distribution.

If you plan to modify the Structure for any reason, you must obtain written approval before doing so.

5. Severe Weather, Acts of God, and Site Conditions (Not Covered)

We are not liable for damage, shifting, or failure resulting from severe weather conditions or acts of God, including but not limited to:

  • Hurricanes, tornadoes, straight-line winds, hail, flooding, lightning, ice storms, or heavy snow events.
  • Falling trees or debris.
  • Ground shifting, sinkage, erosion, or poor soil/site conditions.
  • Improper site preparation, unlevel ground, inadequate anchoring conditions, or drainage issues.

Weather- and site-related damage is not a workmanship defect and is not covered under the Painted Sheet Metal Warranty.

6. Roof Style and Length Limitations for the 20-Year Warranty

The 20-year Painted Sheet Metal Warranty does not apply to buildings with a regular or boxed-eave style roof that is longer than 31 feet. Selecting these roof styles and lengths expressly waives the implied warranty of merchantability for that Structure.

In addition:

  • If a vertical roof is declined on Structures longer than 31 feet, the unit will only be covered by the 30-day workmanship warranty.
  • No other warranties will apply to those Structures, and the implied warranty of merchantability is expressly waived.

7. General Exclusions (What Is Not Covered)

Unless explicitly stated otherwise above, warranties do not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear.
  • Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect performance.
  • Rust or corrosion caused by environmental factors, neglect, chemical exposure, salt air, animal waste, fertilizers, or standing water.
  • Damage caused by misuse, abuse, impacts, collisions, or improper loading.
  • Damage from improper anchoring or anchoring that is not installed or maintained correctly.
  • Issues caused by third-party work, modifications, relocation, or disassembly/reassembly.
  • Minor oil-canning, waviness, or visual panel variation common in metal products.
  • Any Structure used in a manner inconsistent with its intended purpose.

8. How to File a Warranty Claim

To request warranty service, the customer must:

  • Notify us in writing as soon as the issue is discovered and within the applicable warranty period.
  • Provide clear photos and/or video of the issue and surrounding area.
  • Provide original purchase information and the Installation Date (or approximate date if unknown).
  • Allow reasonable access for inspection if required.

We may require an inspection before approving any warranty remedy. We may deny claims that are outside the warranty period, excluded under this policy, or determined not to be warrantable.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law:

  • Our liability is limited to the repair or replacement remedies described in this Warranty Information.
  • We are not responsible for incidental or consequential damages, including loss of use, lost profits, or property damage beyond the warranted components, unless specifically required by law.
  • No representative, dealer, or third party may modify these warranty terms unless signed in writing by an authorized representative.

10. Entire Warranty Statement

This document represents the full warranty statement for Blue Valley Steel unless you have a separate signed written agreement stating otherwise. If any part of this warranty is found unenforceable, the remainder will remain in effect.
